So your ready to visit the wood shop where the wood bowls are born, huh? Well, I couldn't think of anyone else who's been through that door more than Katie, our 3 year old granddaughter to give you the grand tour. She probably opens and closes that door about a hundred times a day. Just checking things out. And wouldn't you know shes ready to go again......
Its raining today, but don't worry, I got my umbrella, rain coat, and galoshes, come on, get under, and I will show you where the wood bowls come from.
Well, here we are, I brought along a snack just in case you get hungry, and my doggy too, lets go in...........
Over here is the wood lathe, and all the stuff that goes along with it. Tools, ready to go, shavings, and saw dust.....mmmmmmm smells so good.
No, its OK, I can reach it, I do it all the time, come on in......
Here it is, the wood shop! Lots of shavings on the floor, to play in,
Next stop is the wood bowl drying rack, looks like only a few on this one...this is one of the shelves where things sit and wait till drying is done...
Here's the old trusty shavings shovel, looks like its been slacking on its job lately. Also, a beautiful pecan wood bowl, waiting to get out of that log, directly behind the shovel..
Theres wood waiting in line to jump on the lathe, here's a piece of pine, and walnut, Looks like the walnut got here first.....can't wait to see the finished bowl.
Here we find a dried, cedar box with lid, waiting for the finishing on the lathe, and then the final finish...
And our last stop is the room with the shelves of finished wood bowls, for orders already taken, and waiting to be taken, They're all waiting to find a good home.... Never know, could be one waiting for you!
Well, here we are, right back where we started hope you enjoyed your tour, and hope you will visit us again sometime. If you do you know where I will be, going in and out of the woodshop..........Bye!
